 Finding someone to care about you and your babies well being is no small task, but everyone at Gaia truly does care about you and your baby! Dr. Mateer is amazing at what she does! She talked me through my delivery the whole way and was at my bedside so fast postpartum when I was having complications. Elizabeth and Chelsea I saw quite a bit during my pregnancy and they really are both amazing I cannot say enough good things about them both! The front office staff is also so friendly and helpful, if you get the chance to use Gaia OBGYN you will not be disappointed! 

 Dr Mateer and her staff at Gaia made my pregnancy and delivery such a great experience. I never felt rushed at any appointment, my questions were always answered, even when I wasn’t sure what to ask. I had a “geriatric” pregnancy and was never made to feel badly or like there was anything out of the ordinary. (I am 40.) All the way to my delivery, I felt completely supported and I was allowed to make decisions for myself and my baby. I will admit to feeling a little sad at that last appointment that I wouldn’t be seeing such great caregivers anymore. Could not recommend Gaia enough. Made my pregnancy and delivery such a wonderful experience. 

 We had the best experience with Dr. Mateer and all of the staff at Gaia! My high risk pregnancy was handled with so much compassion and care by the entire team. Dr. Mateer took her time with us each appointment and during our delivery. The kindness and attention we received was beyond what we could have asked for from a provider and team. Thank you all so much for the amazing work you do. 

 I can’t say enough about Dr. Mateer and her staff… not interested in having a third child, but would almost consider it just to be able to be around these ladies some more. The entire staff is wonderful from the time you walk in, each and every visit, till leaving. Everyone dreads going to doctor’s appointments, but the atmosphere provided by Gaia truly makes it an enjoyable experience.

I had the pleasure of having Dr. Mateer for two separate pregnancies. From the first appointment with her, I’ve always felt cared for and heard! My first delivery was as far from what I wanted in a birthing experience as possible due to unexpected medical complications. However, the overall care, support, and outcomes provided by Dr. Mateer are unmatched. It’s hard to even think about what I originally wanted, when she still made so much of that day. And there is no better outcome than a healthy mom… and baby! So of course I chose to have my second baby with her! Because of the unpredictable path of my first delivery, Dr.Mateer did everything to ensure my second pregnancy was a healthy one and gave nothing but reassurance that my first delivery was a one time thing. Although, I still could not have my ideal delivery experience, the care that she provides (in addition to Elizabeth this time around), is undeniable. I wouldn’t change a thing about either delivery, because this practice made everything worth it and more. I couldn’t thank any of them enough. 

Dr. Mateer was our lifesaver. Her bedside manner, patient education and close monitoring all helped our baby girl thrive into the fierce little girl she is. We thank you so much for your everlasting support and care.

 On February 24th 2022 I gave birth. It was an emergency C-section due to high blood pressure, and placenta abruption. She actually beat me to the hospital that morning. I am presuming that the EMTs called her and told her that they were bringing me in. So it was reassuring to be met at the hospital by my doctor with an or booked and everything that could happen planned was planned. My daughter was born at 31 weeks and 4 days. Dr mateer is absolutely amazing and I love her. I was very thankful to get in to see her, because I was being seen at the department of health in citrus county and the doctor I was seeing would not listen to me and didn't seem to care. The second time I saw Dr mateer she was delivering my baby. She was very reassuring in the OR while I was pretty much having a panic attack. After my c-section she went out and talked to my family and assured them that everything went very well. I am currently in recovery and I told her it was important that I did not get any pain meds, and she was very accommodating to that.my daughter is now almost 20 months and thriving. 

 Dr. Mateer is hands down the best OB I have ever seen. She monitored my pregnancy very closely she listen to all my concerns answered all questions and made me feel super comfortable. I had to go to the hospital multiple times due to preeclampsia and she came and seen me every single time to talk to me about the plan and what she was looking for in the tests she ran. When it was time for me to have my baby she was there and made me feel super comfortable they told me a nurse would be there to hold me and talk to him while I was getting prepped for my c section and when I got to the operating room it wasn’t a nurse it was Dr. Mateer she said she likes to be there to make everyone comfortable and that meant a lot. She is very knowledgeable and very personal with you. She made sure both baby and I were happy and healthy. She also fixed my previous c section scar. I love her and I cannot thank her enough for everything she has done for me! 

 What could I not say about Dr.Mateer and the staff  that in fact is not amazing. She is so caring, courteous and embracing. I delivered 2 of my daughters with her and now onto my last, my son  ( I will miss you all after this delivery!!!) she watches me so carefully and truthfully shows compassion with me and my family (kids) fiancé and whomever else I have brought around for visits deliveries ETC… I have never in my life felt so lucky to have been so blessed and lucky finding someone so special to take care of me during my pregnancies! I definitely got blessed with her and the staff (Especially Kortney and everyone else) as a matter of fact this is family to me and always will be!! I love you all and thank you so much for the excellent service and generosity you have shown me through out all these pregnancies in and out… again all I can say is blessed. 150% recommend. 

 I have never felt more comfortable and safe with a care provider than I do with Dr. Mateer, and the amazing office team. After very unexpectedly finding out I was pregnant after almost a decade of thinking it was impossible, I started my journey at another local OBGYN. Unfortunately very disheartened with their care I went looking for another provider and I am so so happy that I found this office. From the first visit, Dr.Mateer sat with me, addressed ALL of my concerns and didn’t rush me at all. You can tell she truly cares for her patients, each and every one and it’s not just an assembly line of dollar bills parading through her office for her. Due to being high risk, I have to come to the office weekly and have gotten to spend time with each of the staff. They all share the same ethics towards the patients here and handle everyone with friendliness, an INSANE amount of knowledge, and deep care. My work as a birth doula and photographer have allowed me to meet and work closely with a lot of the areas birth workers and I can honestly say that the this office is a gem in a sometimes abysmal field of rocks. Kortney and Heather are seriously rockstars. They take such pride and show so much love to each aspect of their work. I can’t thank them enough for taking care of me, my concerns and my little unborn nugget. Oh! And to address some of the concerns in previous reviews...yes, sometimes you need to wait a little bit but that’s what you get when you’re dealing with a human who takes time to address each persons issues and concerns personally. Bring a charger, watch some TikToks and you’ll be in your room before you know it 

 I had Dr. Mateer for my last pregnancy and I wished I had her for my other two. She is by far the most caring, patient, hardworking doctor there is. She is always there for you in any questions or concerns. She makes sure that she answers any questions ever. I was pregnant with twins and from the first appointment I knew she was the doctor for me. The staff is absolutely amazing and makes you feel like you are her only patient. She made my high risk pregnancy so comforting and was there nightly or checking on me daily to see how I was when I was admitted. I’m so blessed to have had her for my final pregnancy. Dr. Mateer is truly the best doctor I’ve ever had and I’m blessed to have had her. Thank you for being such an amazing doctor. - VN

 I found Dr. Mateer after two other failed offices. I am beyond happy I did find her because she was so amazing, very personable and always there if I had questions. Office staff always made us feel welcome, spoke to my kids when I had to bring them with me for one appointment, always asked how they were doing as well as myself. She always made sure we were up to speed with what was going on with baby girl, so beyond grateful she was there to deliver as well. Thanks to her my daughter came into this world healthy and is thriving to this day. If I were to have any more babies I would definitely have her, but this mommas baby days are over.  There is so many wonderful things to say about Dr. Erin Mateer. Dr. Mateer and her office staff are family to me. Every time I walk in the office for an appointment I always feel so welcome, like I’m walking into their home. Dr. Mateer has so many amazing qualities as a doctor it’s hard to pick what to talk about. She is the kindest doctor I have ever met. She helped me bring to beautiful babies into the world. Both of my pregnancies I had complications. Dr. Mateer ALWAYS went above and beyond her duties as a doctor to make sure myself and my babies were safe, healthy, and happy. Again I consider her family. There is no other doctor I would have had deliver my babies. I am so incredibly thankful for her and all the support she has given me during both of my pregnancies. She truly cares about her patients. I highly recommend her to anyone who is pregnant. You are in safe and caring hands if you pick Dr. Mateer as your doctor. I thank God every day that I did. -KC

 Even through a mask you can see her grinning ear to ear. If that doesn't show you that she absolutely loves what she does and loves her patients and all the babies that her job brings, I don't know what does. Not to mention, her AMAZING staff. Always so nice, and helpful. Absolutely love Kortney. My last pregnancy was my 3rd baby. Which was also my first pregnancy with Gestation Diabetes. She made me feel so reassured that everything was going to be alright. she LISTENED to me. My needs, my wants, my worries. Everything! Giving birth can be a scary thing, and she made the process that much more enjoyable and less worrisome. BTW if you ever go in, notice a long wait, it's because she's actually taking her time with her patient. She won't ever rush them. She wants to make sure you leave feeling 100% comfortable with the appointment and all questions are answered. I will NEVER and I mean NEVER see another OBGYN. If there is one person out there that can make all your worries go away, it's her. I've never trusted someone with my baby's life, like I did with her.  I found Dr. Erin Mateer online last year at this time when I needed to switch ob’s. My story is a long one, but I’ll just make this short and sweet. I was high risk, diabetic, had iugr, and was 39. My daughter was born with some complications. I am so appreciative and thankful for dr mateer and her staff! If I wouldn’t have switched ob’s who knows what would have happened.  - DC

 I was referred to Dr. Mateer by a doctor I work for and I am so glad I went to her, I had an IVF pregnancy so of course I was scared and nervous about everything. She was amazing from start to finish and when I ended up catching Covid while having my baby, I can say she saved my life and even came to check on me when I was hospitalized 3 days after giving birth. Her staff is just as amazing as she is and the care and love I felt from them when they finally saw me after being hospitalized was with such compassion, they are all incredibleShe is the most passionate, caring and incredible doctor I have ever had.
